Enhanced Living Spaces

What's the difference between a campus and a community? Community is the place where humanity does its most important work. Community is the place where the brain of a teenage girl contextualizes lessons and learns best. And at Chatham Hall, community is the coming together of students and adults who all call the same place home.

Campaign Outcomes

List of 3 items.

  • Investing in Community

Today, most of our faculty members at various life stages live on campus at Chatham Hall—along with their children, and pets. Their doors and hearts are always open to our students. We believe that this model is more relevant than ever.

When we invest in community, it demonstrates a commitment to social and environmental wellness that girls will carry with them to their homes and communities in the future. And great teachers are increasingly in short supply.
  • Attracting & Retaining

Trends from the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) reveal an affordable housing shortage in our future, putting further pressure on the education industry. Therefore, these renovations position Chatham Hall to attract and retain top talent by offering modernized, comfortable housing. In essence, we will establish Chatham Hall as an employer of choice for talented teachers everywhere.

Most of our faculty living spaces are in need of renovation and repair. This campaign initiative invests in our faculty by upgrading 25 faculty housing units, placing a premium on attracting and retaining top educators and boosting their well-being and motivation.
  • Student Spaces

There are many beloved community spaces on campus, with our Large Drawing Room leading the way. This central gathering space has been modernized into an area where visitors and community members alike are welcomed to campus and can enjoy informal connections as well as more structured programs.
As we realize our goal to enhance and fortify the student experience, upgrades have already begun to improve our residential community. Generosity from the very first phases of our campaign projects gave us two new faculty homes on Halifax Road and Walker Buck Wing in Yardley Dorm. The Yardley renovations include renewed student rooms, a faculty apartment, and common space.

And this important work continues: our upcoming faculty housing renovations will spark pride and inspire even more community connections.
