Donor Stories

James Secor, III

Why do you make philanthropic contributions to Chatham Hall?
There are many reasons my wife and I make philanthropic contributions to this beloved school! My wife is a graduate, Class of 1968, and loves Chatham Hall. We have had a long association with the School.
Why is it important for other people to support Chatham Hall financially?
The difference to our future that this School provides is terribly great because the training that goes on for these young women at Chatham is above any that they would receive in any other boarding school. So, by making a contribution to this wonderful institution, you’re furthering what will happen in future generations in a really great way as they will serve our community, our country, and our society.

What do you think Chatham Hall does best?
Independent schools are awfully good at academics. But what sets Chatham Hall apart is the moral compass that is instilled in the girls who are students here. The School’s lasting imprint on these students will carry them forward for generations, and I know that because my wife well remembers what she learned at Chatham Hall and it has had an important and impactful influence on her life.
